- 1.4 lb flour
- 2 ¾ cups milk
- ½ oz instant yeast
- 1 oz sugar
Spices & seasonings (1): salt
- ½ oz salt
How to make it
Steps in our own plain words.
-
Place the flour in a large bowl.
-
Add the yeast and sugar.
-
If your milk is cold make sure.
-
Heat it to lukewarm.
-
Mix your flour mix bit by bit with the milk till you have a smooth batter.
-
Add the salt.
-
Mix using a wooden spoon till your batter is smooth and liquidy.
-
Cover with a clean tea towel.
-
Leave in a warm spot for around an hour to rise.
-
Heat your deep fryer or add your oil to a large pot.
-
Your oil should be t 180˚C (350˚F).
-
Keep going for best results.
-
Before starting mix your batter through plus scoop your batter using two spoons or using an ice cream scoop.
-
Let it drop into the oil.
-
It's easiest to do this if you dip spoons or scoop in the oil before dipping into the batter.
-
That way it will slide of your spoons easily.
-
Don't over crowd your fryer to prevent your oil cooling down too fast and everything sticking together.
-
When one side is golden it usually turns around to your other side automatically.
-
If not help it along using two forks.
-
Take the balls out when golden.
-
Leave to drain on piece of kitchen paper.
