  • 4 oz dried apricots
  • 1 ¾ oz light raisins
  • 4 oz raisins
  • 1 ¾ oz walnuts
  • 1 ¾ oz almonds
  • 1 ¾ oz pistachios
  • 1 ¾ oz cherries

How to make it

Steps in our own plain words.

  1. Wash the apricots and both raisins.

  2. Place in a bowl - cover using cold water to 2 inches above the fruit.

  3. Put the almonds, pistachos and walnuts in another bowl or pan.

  4. Add boiling water.

  5. Leave to soak.

  6. Peel off all your skins as they soften.

  7. This is a fiddly job plus make take time - but it's definitely worth your effort.

  8. Throw away the water.

  9. Mix your fruits using your nuts plus cherries, including your juice they have been soaking in.

  10. Add the rose water.

  11. Cover the mixture.

  12. Leave in your fridge to rest for two days.

  13. Wait until you leave the mix.

  14. Your juice will become sweeter plus syrupy, giving the dish a unique consistency, to serve.

  15. Spoon the juice, nuts and fruit into individual bowls or cups.

On the side: Green salad

A side we added to round out the meal. It is not part of the original recipe.

How to make it (10 min)
  1. Rinse the salad greens. Slice the cucumber.
  2. Put it all in a bowl and toss with the dressing just before eating.
