- 1 tsp baking powder
Sauces & oils
- Splash olive oil
Spices & seasonings (1): salt
- ½ tsp salt
How to make it
Steps in our own plain words.
-
Prepare.
-
Mix the dry ingredients - salt, baking soda and flour on a big baking tray or a clean work surface.
-
Make a well in the middle.
-
Add the yogurt.
-
Using your hands slowly mixed your ingredients together to start to form dough.
-
Kneed your dough on floured surface, adding extra if you find the texture too sticky.
-
The dough is ready when it's of a pizza dough texture plus still very a bit sticky, this should only take some minutes.
-
On baking tray add a little oil.
-
Put the dough on top.
-
Shape and flatten the dough in a circle shape ensuring your height of the dough is about 2 inches.
-
Cover your dough using little bit of olive oil, ensure it's fully covered.
-
Bake the Kulaç as it's or you can create patterns which too helps with even cooking.
-
Your most common patterns are using your back of a fork to a bit press down.
-
Do it to create line dents all.
-
Do it over or spiking your dough with the fork, baking.
-
Place on bottom shelf of a pre heated oven.
-
Bake for 40 minutes till your dough is golden and firm to touch.
-
Cooling.
-
Wait until removed from the oven.
-
Stand upright or place on cooling rack to let it cool, serving.
-
Cut your Kulaç the way you would a cake in 8 slices.
-
If you are serving you may want to snap plus pull apart your bread with your hands instead.
