  • 20 oz tamarind pulp
  • 2 cups sugar

How to make it

Steps in our own plain words.

  1. Add tamarind pulp plus 1 ¼ cups granulated sugar to a bowl.

  2. Mash together with a spoon or fork.

  3. Take little amounts of the tamarind and sugar mix.

  4. Shape them in little balls by rolling them in your hands.

  5. Make them your size of a marble or a bit bigger, as you like.

  6. Add the rest of the sugar to flat surface, like plate or a sheet pan.

  7. Roll the tamarind balls in granulated sugar till they're well-coated.

  8. Eat the tamarind balls right away, or you can let them set for few hours or overnight.

  9. Allowing them to set will give them firmer texture and more crystallized sugar coating.
