Add your salted water little by little, mixing using the flour till all your water has been used plus the flour has become a dough.
-
Let it rest for five minutes, now.
-
Shape the dough in round rolls around 3 inches in diameter plus 1 2 inch thick.
-
Slowly heat the arepas till a crust forms on each side in a lightly greased pan.
-
Place them into a casserole.
-
Cook in the oven in the oven at 350 degrees for about 20 min, until the arepas sound hollow when tapped.
-
To enhance taste: instead of using water, use chicken or beef broth.
